...and now for the dogs!

I just realized that my blog is titled "3 dogs and a baby," and so far I've only talked about the baby. So today I thought I'd post a few pictures of my wild and crazy dogs. I'm such a sucker for animals, I've never met one that I haven't instantly loved. Four(ish) years ago, Brandon and I moved into our very first house. As soon as the fence was finished, Brandon went to the Humane Society to get a dog. It was a Saturday, and I was working (which happened often when I worked at TLU). Brandon and I spent the entire previous evening looking at the Humane Society's website, so we knew which dog we were going to get. Well....long story short, Brandon couldn't stand the thought of getting the second-to-last puppy in the litter, and leaving only one by herself.....so he got two. Sadie and Scout are attached at the hip. Wherever one goes, the other follows. This is the best picture I could get of them, they're not into posing.
Sadie and Scout were born at the Humane Society. Their mother was very sick. She had been badly abused and had heartworms. However, the vet at the Humane Society believed that if she were nursed back to health, she would soon be adopted. Well, the vet was right, and guess who adopted her?

That's right! Meet Dakota. She's the sweetest dog you'll ever meet, I swear. Occasionally she shows a sign or two that she suffered some abuse, but she's definitely not shy. She will let Kate do absolutely ANYTHING to her, and she never gets mad.

So that's the story of my dogs. At times they drive me crazy, but so does Brandon and I still keep him around! I hope students and teachers have a good first day of school!

A Bad Hair Day?

So this is what Kate's hair currently looks like...

I am in this constant debate with Brandon about whether we should cut her hair or leave it long. I want to let her bangs grow out with the rest of her hair so that we can put it all back and not have to worry about keeping bangs trimmed, but Brandon wants to cut it all off and make her look like a boy.

This is how I like to fix Kate's hair.

Brandon's argument is that she takes it down all of 5 minutes after I take the time to fix it. I keep telling him that if we let it look messy for a little while, the results will be worth it. He's not willing to wait. If I have any blog readers out there, which I don't think I do (but hey, a girl can dream...), what do you think about the Kate-hair-debate?

Since I stay home with Kate, we have lots of activities planned almost everyday. Today we took a trip to the McKenna Children's Museum with some friends. We frequent the museum, Kate loves the outside display of water and animals, the "Kate sized" grocery store, the bank vault, the pretend fire and camp site, and all the cool toys she can play with for hours. I love the fact that I don't have to worry about her breaking anything since all of it is kid-friendly. Here are some pictures from today, I think I finally got the hang of putting images on the blog! Enjoy!

She was supposed to be using a fishing pole to get these fish out....cheater!

Takin' a break

Yeah, I want her to be in charge of my money....

She wants to go outside so badly...

Technologically Unadvanced

I am jumping on the bandwagon and starting a blog. Yes, me, the girl who didn't have a computer or cell phone when starting college (in the 21st century). The girl who used to sit in the back of computer class in elementary school so that no one would notice that I didn't know how to turn the computer on....I'm starting a blog. I'm not starting a blog because my life is all that interesting to read about, but because I've been following a number of blogs for some time now, and I'm tired of feeling like a creepy blog-stalker! I feel that if I'm reading all about other people's lives, I should at least give them the opportunity to read about mine.

Most of the people reading this probably already know me, but if by chance you don't, I'll share a little about my life. I've been married a little over 5 years to my husband, Brandon, who can always make me laugh. We have an 18 month old daughter, Kate, who changes constantly and always keeps me on my toes. We also (as the title of the blog indicates) have 3 dogs, Sadie, Scout, and Dakota, who always make me smile when they're not making me crazy! I laugh and get excited easily, I love my life, and I'm very happy to no longer be a blog stalker!

P.S. I wanted to post some pictures of my crazy dogs and family, but I'll have to get back to that when I figure out how. See, even though I have figured out how to turn my computer on, I pretty much have trouble with everything after that...
